Fête des Lumières- Lyon, France
The first week of December, 7 of us Au Pairs decided to take a day trip to Lyon for the Fête des Lumières. The city is just under a two hour drive from Annecy, so we piled into the white Mazda 5 mini van I drive here, and off we went. The light festival is a huge event that takes place every year, and throughout the city, lights flicker from the sides of buildings and from street posts and floating shapes like you’d see in a parade. It wasn’t the tacky lights I am used to from the good ‘ol US, but it was nice. 🙂 And very very crowded.
Also, since Lyon is known for it’s cuisine gastronomique (and because we were starving) we decided to stop and eat. (Sidenote: if you have never tried quenelle….just…i mean, try it…but go in knowing it’s probably nothing close to what you’d expect….you’ll either love it or be very very confused.)
Happy Christmas everyone!
