Fête des Lumières- Lyon, France

The first week of December, 7 of us Au Pairs decided to take a day trip to Lyon for the Fête des Lumières.  The city is just under a two hour drive from Annecy, so we piled into the white Mazda 5 mini van I drive here, and off we went.  The light festival is a huge event that takes place every year, and throughout the city, lights flicker from the sides of buildings and from street posts and floating shapes like you’d see in a parade.  It wasn’t the tacky lights I am used to from the good ‘ol US, but it was nice. 🙂  And very very crowded.

Also, since Lyon is known for it’s cuisine gastronomique (and because we were starving) we decided to stop and eat.  (Sidenote: if you have never tried quenelle….just…i mean, try it…but go in knowing it’s probably nothing close to what you’d expect….you’ll either love it or be very very confused.)

Happy Christmas everyone!

From Thanksgiving…

I wanted to post some pictures from my second Thanksgiving here in Annecy (that happened on the 27th of November) before it turned into Christmas and it wouldn’t be OK anymore…

Thanks for hosting and doing such a lovely job with all the food, Michelene!! ❤
